Contracting refers to the process of establishing a formal agreement between parties. In healthcare, this often involves negotiations related to payment terms, services rendered, responsibilities, and other legal obligations. While Credentialing involves verification of educational background, training, licenses, board certifications, work history, and any disciplinary actions. This process may be completed by healthcare organizations, hospitals, or insurance providers before granting privileges or the ability to bill for services. Both processes are essential for the functioning of healthcare systems but serve very different purposes within that context.
It depends on which services you are in need of . We have options from hourly rates to per application costs and options that include the process from start to finish as well as helping with any credentialing issues that may arise throughout the year and CAQH maintenance. The average cost to credential a healthcare provider is typically between $2,000 and $4,500 per physician per year. This includes tasks like background checks, payer enrollments and follow-ups, and managing the entire credentialing process.
Every provider that is involved in patient care needs to be Credentialed , whether you are a a newly credentialed provider, new to NC or moving from one practice to another in state. The credentialing process can take anywhere from 30 days to 120 days. It requires knowledge of each Payer and their timelines/ processes and a lot of follow up. A mistake in the process can cost time which can affect being able to bill for services rendered or being able to see patients at all .
We have worked with MD/DOs, ACP providers, Newly Graduated Providers or Providers in Residency , New to NC providers, Behavioral Health Providers, and Dentists.
We will ask for : demographic information , drivers license, NPI, copies of Medical License/DEA/Board Certifications, degrees/ residency diploma and transcripts, CV/ work history , professional references, professional liability information, claims history, license history ( convictions/ suspensions/ revocations). All of this information is required to provide Payers.
